Acheng is a small city and an administrative county-level district of Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China. The city is 29 km southeast of the city of Harbin, 190 km north of Jilin, and around 50 km south of the Songhua River; it lies within the basin of the A-shih River.
Acheng is the place where the Jin Dynasty (1115-1234) originated and the Harbin North Forest Zoo therefore lies on the tourist routes from Harbin to the site of the Jin Dynasty capital, Yuquan Hunting Ground and the Yabuli Skiing Ground.
Acheng it is located in Northeast China under the direct influence of the cold winter wind from Siberia. The average temperature in summer is 21.2 degrees Celsius while in winter the average stands at -16.8 degrees Celsius. Acheng can be as cold as -38.1 degrees Celsius in winter.
The Binsui Railway passes through the city. There are over twenty commuter rail lines in the rural area. Acheng is around a 50 km drive from the international airport at Harbin. An expressway connects the city to Harbin and several other national highways run through the area.
