Guilin, one of China's most picturesque cities is situated in the northeast of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China located on the west bank of the Lijiang River.
Guilin has a Damp monsoon climate both warm and rainy, yet on the whole plenty of sunshine and clear division of the four seasons although the winters are relatively warm. The Average annual temperature is 19°C.
The best time to travel to Guilin would be the autumn with too much rain in the spring and summer can be a little bit too hot, and the Li River experiences low water levels in winter.
Guilin cuisine is known for its snacks and spices, particularly chilli. Guilin's famous chilli sauce is made of fresh chilli, garlic, and fermented soybeans. Guilin Sanhua Jiu, a variety of rice baijiu, or liquor distilled from rice; and Guilin pickled tofu are also famous in this region. Zongzi, a dumpling made from glutinous rice and mung bean paste wrapped in a bamboo or banana leaf is another popular delicacy in Guilin.
Guilin tourist centre and transportation is well developed with excellent communication and accommodation facilities. You can enter Guilin by air, by train or by bus and get around on free buses.
