Haimen is a county-level city in Jiangsu Province of People's Republic of China. It is located at the opposite side of the Yangtze River to Shanghai.
Haimen is 30km away from Nantong Airport to the north, 120km from Shanghai Hongqiao & Pudong Airport to the south. Haimen is 30 km to Xingchang Railway and the Huchongsu Railway will pass through Haimen. The new Ninqi Highway is under construction starting from Nanjing and terminating in Qidong and will run through Haimen with adequate access points. It takes only 2 hours from Haimen to Shanghai and 3 hours to Nanjing through Ningtong Highway. Haimen is 30km away from Nantong International Container Terminal, a busy and efficient auxiliary port attached to the Ocean Shipping Centre of Shanghai Port.
On the north bank of the Yangtze River, Haimen Harbour boasts a natural harbour and the closest one to Shanghai and the shortest waterway towards the sea.
