In the winter, flocks of wild gooses and egrets migrate from the remote north to nest in the dense bulrush of the wetland.
Huaibei has a total green-covered area of over 2200 hectares, among which more than 800 hectares are urban public green area. The whole city is surrounded by green trees as if it is a huge garden. Huaibei people have a simple lifestyle. You can find plenty of teahouses at the old town Linhuan. Drinking tea is a 600 year old, local tradition. You can also enjoy the local opera shows in the teahouses. The two local operas, namely Sizhou Opera and Liuqin Opera, are known for their resonant an enchanting singing.
