Huainan is a large-sized energy city that is located in the hinterland of east China and the middle part at the shore of the beautiful and fertile Huai River.
Established after 1949 as the centre of China's chief coal-mining region. Huainan is blessed with an outstanding geographical position belonging go the warm temperature zone with monsoon climate with four distinctive seasons.
The annual temperature is 15 c and the annual average rainfall is 970mm.
At present chemicals, iron, steel, and machinery are produced, and food and tobacco are processed.
The city has also great agricultural products such as wheat, rice, and Soya bean.
Huainan is in Province Road 102 and crosses through Fuhe railway, which joins Jingjiu and Jinghu Route, 78 kilometres west to Fuyang airport, 85kilometres east to Bengbu airport. Huai River within its areas is navigated for four seasons.
The city has a lot of scenic spots and historical sites including the ruins of the famous ancient battlefield "Campaign Feishui; "grave yard of liampo which was the famous general during the Warring State; HuangXie, known as Chun Sheng Monarch; the ruins of "Ancient shouzhou kiln; "the ancient MaoXian Cave and animal fossil group.
