Jiangdu city, a city along the Yangtze River in the middle of Jiangsu Province was set up as a county in 135 BC and has been famous for its location where the Yangtze River meets the Huaihe River.
In 1994, Jiangdu City was set up. Jiangdu City covers an area of 1,332 square kilometres, has a population of 1.07 million people, and administrate 13 townships and an economical development zone of provincial level.
There are three Water Bodies The first one refers to the Yangtze River. The local three kinds of fish living in the Yangtze River are especially famous. Jiangdu is famous for its nurseries with the annual output of 10 million pots of flowers and bonsai, 2 millions of fresh cut flowers. Jiangdu silk production is well known with its vast mulberry planting areas.
