Situated in the southwest Zhejiang Province, Jiangshan City is the intersection of the three provinces: Zhejiang Province, Fujian Province and Jiangxi Province. The city is bordered Qu Town and Suichang Town to the east, adjacent to Yushan Town and Guangfeng Town to the west, and is adjoining Changshan Town to the north. It occupies the total area of 2,019 square kilometres.
The terrain is high in the south and low in the north. The highest point is in the Da Longgang at 1,500.3 meters above the sea level, and the lowest point is the ferry at 73 meters above the sea lever. Sea level the major river is 105 km-long Xujiang River, one of the tributaries of Qiantang River.
Belonging to the subtropical monsoon climate, Jiangshan City is blessed with four distinct seasons. With the average temperature of 17.1C and the total rainfall of 1,650-2,200mm of a year, the climate of this city is temperate and moist. The foist- free period lasts 253 days, and it is fit for the growth of the crops and breeding of the domestic animals.
