Jinjiang District is situated in southeast urban area of Chengdu. In the northwest, it joints Qingyang District. In the west, it is adjacent to Wuhou District at the other side of Jinjiang River and Fuhe River. In the east, it neighbours Chenghua District. In the southeast, it borders on Longquanyi District. In Jinjiang District, the frost-free period is more than 300 days and no sweltering summer heat and severe winter. The annual average sunshine time is 1,239 hours.

Jinjiang District enjoys convenient traffic. In this district, there are four expressways, Chengyu (Chengdu-Chongqing), Chengmian (Chengdu-Mianyang), Chengnan (Chengdu-Nanchong), and Chengya (Chengdu-Yaan) Expressway, that spread over the entire province. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd ring roads and external ring road traverse Jinjiang District horizontally. In addition, Chengyu (Chengdu-Chongqing), Chengkun (Chengdu-Kunming), Dacheng (Dazhou-Chengdu) railways converge in Chengdu, by which you can reach your destination in China. As for air traffic, Air China Southwest Branch, Sichuan Airlines has set an office in Jinjiang District. Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is the largest air traffic hub and passenger and goods distributing centre in southwest China.
